Principal's Bio: With the '24-'25 school year, Mr. Mooney is starting his 21st year in education and 8th year with the Pass Christian Public School District. Mr. Mooney grew up in Tyler, Texas, and moved to Mississippi when he received his undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Millsaps College (Jackson, MS) and his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University (Jonesboro, AR). Mr. Mooney began his career in education as a teacher at Northwest Rankin Elementary School (Flowood, MS) before moving on to teaching and coaching at Pisgah Attendance Center (7-12) where he coached football, basketball, and track for Pisgah High School (Sand Hill, MS). Mr. Mooney has also had stops at Old Town Middle School (Ridgeland, MS), Northwest Rankin High School, and Long Beach Middle School (Long Beach, MS) while serving as the defensive coordinator for both the Cougars' and Bearcats' varsity football programs. In 2017, Mr. Mooney came to the PCPSD as the Lead Teacher at Pirate's Landing Alternative School. He moved to Pass Christian High School as Assistant Principal in 2018 before moving to PCMS. He was honored to accept the position of Principal of Pass Christian Middle School to start the '22-’23 school year.
